Sydney Stone, Morgana, bring new digital finishing systems to Print World
The New Morgana DigiPro finishing system
The New Morgana DigiFold Pro finishing system
Morgana Systems, through its distributor Sydney Stone, has unveiled a new generation of products to take digital finishing to higher levels of productivity and performance. The new products will be featured at Print World at Sydney Stone’s 1,200 sq. ft. booth, which is 25% larger than the last Print World.

There are two new creasers in the Morgana range: the AutoCreaser Pro 33 and the AutoCreaser 50. Based on the original AutoCreaser, the Pro 33 is hugely more productive, operating at up to 8,500 sheets per hour with all functions controlled from a new intuitive touch-screen for greater automation and ease of use. Taking a larger sheet size, the AutoCreaser Pro 50 is a bigger version of the 33 and also offers increased productivity at 8,500 sph. Both machines also incorporate a new PosiFeed feeding system which allows a greater pile height and improved feeding of difficult stocks.

The Morgana AutoFold Pro is an entirely new concept in folding, being a free-standing unit with a vacuum feed conveyor that is adjustable in height. This means that it will work with any creaser—not just Morgana models—to create a combined creasing and folding station. Once in position and with both machines powered up, the sheets are delivered straight to the conveyor for folding at speeds up to 6,500 sph.

Morgana Systems will also launch a new combined creaser/folder at Print World. The new DigiFold Pro is a versatile unit offering combined creasing and folding in a single pass or alternatively, acting as a stand-alone creaser or as a perforator when neither creasing nor folding is required. It uses a newly patented automated creasing technology called DynaCrease and combines this with Morgana’s proven “Flying Knife” folding method, which together provides a quality finish without risk of damage to delicate digital substrates.

The new DigiFold Pro also uses Morgana’s new PosiFeed system to enable it to handle lighter papers and difficult stocks while also allowing the feeder to be piled higher. The DigiFold can crease and fold at speeds up to 6,000 sheets per hour, enhanced by having a touch-screen panel to control all functions and make life easier for the operator. The DigiFold Pro has been made JDF-ready in anticipation of more users wanting bindery operations to become part of an automated workflow process.
